Nick Badenhorst
Co-Founder | Managing Director | Operations Engineering & Business Development
Nick Badenhorst is the Founder of TNT Minerals & Trading (Pty) Ltd, a company he established alongside Thato Daza and Thomas Bratschi with a shared vision of building one of Africa’s leading chrome mining and trading businesses.
With a background in mechanical engineering and heavy mobile equipment, Nick has worked across major mining operations, developing extensive experience in equipment maintenance, plant operations, and operational efficiency. His practical knowledge of the mining industry has provided the foundation for creating a business focused on quality, reliability, and long-term growth.
Together with his co-founders, Nick has built TNT Minerals & Trading around a clear vision: to develop a trusted African mining company that delivers premium chrome concentrate through strategic partnerships, efficient processing, and responsible business practices. The company’s long-term objective is to expand beyond chrome processing and trading into fully integrated underground mining operations, creating sustainable value for customers, investors, employees, and local communities.

Thato Daza
Co-Founder | Managing Director | Legal, Compliance & Corporate Governance
Thato Daza is the Co-Founder and Director of TNT Minerals & Trading, bringing together expertise in legal compliance, corporate governance, and strategic business development within South Africa’s mining industry. Currently pursuing both a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and a postgraduate qualification in Compliance, he has built a strong foundation in regulatory frameworks while gaining practical experience in the commercial mining sector.
Throughout his career, Thato has played an active role in identifying and securing mineral opportunities, conducting commercial due diligence, facilitating high-level negotiations, and coordinating the sale and export of mineral commodities to international markets. His ability to navigate both the legal and commercial aspects of mining has made him instrumental in building strategic relationships with mining companies, investors, government stakeholders, and international buyers.
At TNT Minerals & Trading, Thato oversees corporate governance, compliance, contractual matters, and strategic commercial initiatives, ensuring that every transaction is conducted with transparency, regulatory compliance, and a commitment to industry best practice. His leadership helps position the company as a trusted and reliable partner within the global minerals supply chain.
